Harold Allen Tichenor

Harold Allen Tichenor (June 3, 1921, Napton, MissouriSeptember 13, 2005) was a noted genealogist.

He wrote a definitive genealogy titled "Tichenor Families in America", published in 1988. This 736-page work traces the Tichenor family from Martin Tichenor, who took the Oath of Allegiance at the New Haven Colony in August 1644. This work traces more than 9 generations of Tichenor in America. Harold Tichenor lived his entire life in Napton, Missouri and traveled the United States extensively researching the Tichenor family. Harold was instrumental in locating and restoring a Tichenor family cemetery near Bardstown, KY, which is the resting place of Daniel Tichenor, who served in the Revolutionary War in the Minute Men and Militia.
