Half-Hanging

Half-Hanging
Half-Hanging is a method of torture in which a rope is pulled tightly around the victim’s neck and then slackened when he becomes unconscious.

It was used by British Forces in Ireland in particular during the period of ‘free quarters’ following the Irish Rebellion of 1798.
