most famous as the creator of the animated television series Gargoyles
. Weisman is a former English composition and writing teacher and received degrees at Stanford University
Of late, Weisman is notable for the question and answer forum he participates in with Gargoyles
fans online, often revealing his intended plans for the show. He announced on the forum a deal with Disney
to continue the Gargoyles
storyline as a comic book produced by Slave Labor Graphics
beginning in 2006

Weisman is not new to writing comics, having spent some time at DC as an editor and co-writing Captain Atom with Cary Bates. Bates later wrote several episodes of Gargoyles. He later wrote the series bible for Max Steel and story edited the show's first season. Weisman is also a voice director and was once a development executive at Disney. Weisman recently produced and story edited the second season of W.I.T.C.H., which is based on the comic book of the same name. He's currently supervising producer of The Spectacular Spider-Man for 2008. He also wrote an outline for Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, but was rejected by the story editor at the time.
