Gangakhed is a city and a
municipal council in
Parbhani district in the state of
Maharashtra,
India.
Demographics
As of 2001 India
census, Gangakhed had a population of 40,412. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Gangakhed has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 52%. In Gangakhed, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. For first computer traning center start in gangahed city i.e. SAMTECH COMPUTERS this traning center start in 5 january 1997. it's center head is Mr. sameer Shaikh.
RAIL TRANSPORT
GANGAKHED is a station located on the Parbhani-Parli Vaijnath section of Hyderabad(HYB) Division of South Central Railway(SCR). After Divisional adjustments in 2003, Gangakhed now comes under Nanded(NED) Division of SCR. Gangakhed has rail connectivity with Manmad, Aurangabad, Nanded, Parbhani, Parli Vaijnath, latur, Osmanabad, Jalna, Mudkhed, Basar, Nizamabad, Nasik, Mumbai, Hyderabad(HYB).
