Continuum is a biannual roleplaying, freeform and board games convention held at Beaumont Hall, part of the Leicester University campus Halls of Residence, from July 28 to July 31, 2006. Continuum features the games and settings of Chaosium, Issaries and other notable companies, as well as hosting many large and small freeform games.
Noted for its friendly and accessible atmosphere, the convention is open to gamers of all ages, although attendees younger than 18 will require a signed permission slip and be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian.
Continuum was formed when the majority of original Convulsion convention organisers left for pastures new. It has been at the beating heart of the British roleplaying community and has been a crucible for game designers, artists and writers to hone their arts. Regular guests include Greg Stafford, Sandy Petersen, Ken Rolston and Mark Galeotti. The convention is particularly noted for its relationship with Chaosium and Issaries, both important companies within the Roleplaying genre. Many attendees are fans of the worlds of Moorcock, H. P. Lovecraft and of course Stafford's own world of Glorantha.
The convention has a thriving freeform role-playing game community attached to it, as well as tabletop games, wargames and computer games. This year should see the re-release of the classic RuneQuest RPG, produced by Mongoose Publishing, an eagerly awaited event.
