Gaelscoil Bhaile Brigín is an Irish language primary education school that opened its doors in September 2006 as a culmination of efforts made by prospective parents and interested Irish speakers in the Balbriggan area. The school is the first Irish language in the northern part of Fingal and due to its success, has given encouragement to interested parties from other towns in Fingal. Gaelscoil Ros Eó Rush has opened for the September 2008 school year and a founding comittee for a Gaelscoil in Lusk has also been launched as of August 2008. The Balbriggan Gaelscoil committee was formed in the spring of 2005 with the task of raising funds, registering prospective pupils and applying to the Department of Science & Education for official recognition.
The Gaelscoil oringanlly rented rooms in Sunshine House in Church Street in Balbriggan on a temporary basis, the school also shared Sunshine House with Bracken Educate Together and Naíonra Bhaile Brigín. Gaelscoil Bhaile Brigín has now moved to it's permanent location in Castlelands as of September 2008
The Head Teacher is Clodagh Ni Mhaoilchiarán and the Chairman of the School is Micheál Mac Mathuna.
