Freshman Fund is an American corporation launched in April 2007. Freshman Fund is a registry that simplifies the giving and receiving of gifts for 529 college savings plans, a tax-advantaged college savings vehicle. Parents create an account, register their child(ren)'s 529 college plans, and send a link to family and friends. Any contributions they receive go directly into their college fund(s). The Freshman Fund platform is free to use and open to all 529 college savings plans. The company's revenues are derived from advertising.

Founder Jeff Frese came up with the idea behind the business at his niece's 4th birthday party.
