Fratt, Texas was founded by German settlers prior to 1900, later it became a flag station on the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad. In the 1930's the community had a store, church, a station house, and a saloon run by the Willinbrock Brothers. In the late 1940's Fratt had a population of 25. The community is today represented only by a Fratt postal area and a Fratt telephone exchange.
