Just Between Friends Franchise System, Inc. was founded in 2003 by stay-at-home moms, Daven Tackett and Shannon Wilburn, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They realized, after seven years of increasingly larger sales and showing moms across the Midwest a better way to sell gently-used, name brand children’s clothing and then purchase what their families needed for the next season, Just Between Friends was a home-based business concept that could be duplicated across the US through franchising.
In 2008, JBF was featured on “The Big Idea” with TV host Donny Deutsch to share with the audience the JBF selling concept. “Inside Edition” featured JBF’s smart shopping concept by interviewing active shoppers at an actual JBF event.
Just Between Friends sales events offer consignors (sellers) 65%-70% of what their items sell for, minus a small consignor fee. All items are prepped by consignors and arrive with barcode tags that are created through the myjbftags.com online system. Each event is staffed by numerous volunteers, who help during the sales in exchange for the opportunity to shop before the doors are open to the public. For example, volunteers are responsible for inspecting items, so shoppers do not waste time looking through stained, torn or outdated clothing. Shoppers can expect to save up to 80% on many new and gently-used name brand items like Gymboree, Little Tikes, Fisher Price, Limited Two and Leapfrog.
Currently, JBF has semi-annual sales events in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
