Fossarina is a genus of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc of the family Trochidae, the top shells.

Distribution

This genus is endemic to south east Australia and northern New Zealand.

Habitat

Species in this genus are found in the tidal zone.

Shell description

These top shells are small, auriform, with a very large oval aperture. The operculum is horny, circular, and multispiral. The radula is similar to that of the genus ''Cantharidus.
