January 17–21 - Kenora Thistles defeat the Montreal Wanderers 2 games to 0 in a Stanley Cup challenge to win the Stanley Cup. Kenora would be the smallest town to ever win the Stanley Cup.
March 23–25 - The Wanderers regain the Cup by defeating the Thistles 2 games to 0 in a rematch. The Thistles continued to use the Ottawa players and caused a protest to the Stanley Cup trustees, but the Wanderers won the series anyway.
