The
FPS Information and Communication Technology (FOD Informatie- en Communicatietechnologie, SPF Technologie de l'Information et de la Communication, FÖD Informations und Kommunikationstechnologie) or
Fedict is a Federal Public Service of
Belgium. It was created by
Royal Order on
May 11,
2001, as part of the plans of the first
Verhofstadt Government to modernise the federal administration. It is a so-called horizontal Federal Public Service because it isn't responsible for a specific policy field, but provides services to the other Federal Public Services. Fedict became operational in
2002 and is responsible for
e-Government.
