Faroese Communist Party

Faroese Communist Party

The Faroese Communist Party (Føroya Kommunistiski Flokkur) was founded at a conference in Tórshavn 14th-15th of June 1975. In 1974 a communist group had started organizing in the Faroe Islands which preceded the foundation conference. The chairman of FKF used to be Egon Thomsen and the party secretary Tórður Jóansson. The publication of FKF was Tíðin (1975 - 1978). The current status of the party is unclear. One source claims that FKF ceased to function in 1981 when Tórður Jóansson left the islands to study English in Glasgow.
