Fantasy Ride

Fantasy Ride

Fantasy Ride is the third studio album by American R&B/pop singer Ciara. The upcoming album was announced in the "MTV Newsroom" in early April and set to be released in the United States on December 9, 2008 (see 2008 in music). The first single, "Go Girl" featuring T-Pain was released worldwide on September 30, 2008.

Danja, Tricky Stewart, The Clutch, Polow da Don, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Ne-Yo, and Lil' Jon are confirmed to produce tracks for Fantasy Ride. Also, The-Dream, Ludacris, Missy Elliott, and Young Jeezy make guest appearances on the album.

Album concept

Fantasy Ride will be released as an eclectic three-disc album rather than all the tracks on a single CD. Five to six songs will be featured on each disc supplying a different theme. The first disc entitled Groove City contains slow jams similar to Ciara's Evolution single, "Promise". The second disc called Crunktown includes crunk-influenced tracks reminiscing "Goodies". The third disc named Kingdom of Dance provides up-tempo house and freestyle cuts.

In September 2008, Ciara adapted a more sexually image. She appeared in Maxim magazine, where she wore lingerie. On September 16, 2008, the October issue of Vibe magazine was released, which Ciara appeared nude on the cover. In the article, Ciara discussed the album, her relationship with rapper 50 Cent, her dissolved collaborating with Jazze Pha, and the bizzare rumors. Later that month, it was reported that Ciara was unsatsified with the Vibe cover and was planning to sue the magazine. Ciara said, "when I saw the photos, I was a little bothered because the photos appear as if I was nude, and I wasn't nude. I reached out to [Smith] - I sent her a letter - and I was a little upset, too. On September 27, 2008, Ciara, her parents, and fans celebrated the release of the upcoming album at Austell's Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park. For the day, the roller coaster Goliath was renamed Fantasy Ride. Also, Ciara met fans and signed autographs. On October 6, 2008, Ciara was also on "106 & Park" to talk about the new album and what fans can expect. She also stated that she has a few surprises for her fans in this album.

On September 2, 2008, the first single "Go Girl" premiered on the New York radio station Hot 97. The single features T-Pain, who also produced the song. The single debuted at sixty on U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Currently, the song has peaked at twenty-six. The single also debuted at seventy-eight on U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The song was released as a digital download on September 30, 2008.
