In the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, faerie fire spell of the evocation school used by both arcane and natural magic types. The effect of the spell is to create nonburning fire usually used to outline its target with a faint glow. This effect renders ineffective any attempts at concealment by the target. Certain races, such as the drow, have an innate ability to perform this feat. Other role-playing games also utilize this spell, including the MMORPG World of Warcraft.
