Euroboy is the stage name of Norwegian guitarist Knut Schreiner.
Knut Schreiner
Schreiner (born
December 18 in Oslo, Norway, 1974) plays lead guitar in
Turbonegro (aka Stierkampf, Turboneger, TRBNGR), noted internationally for the album
Apocalypse Dudes. As Euroboy, Schreiner usually appears on stage in an all black attire, sporting a Schutz-Staffel
Totenkopf officer's hat. His style of playing is strongly influenced by
James Williamson of
the Stooges from 1971 to 1974. Schreiner has confessed that
Raw Power (1973) by the Stooges is one of his all-time favorite records. He is also influenced by
Ace Frehley of
KISS and
Angus Young of
AC/DC. Schreiner is also the lead guitarist and lead singer of his own band
Euroboys, (formerly known as
Kåre And The Cavemen). He also took part in the Black Diamond Brigade.
Knut Schreiner has produced bands such as
Turbonegro,
Amulet and The Lovethugs. In 2002, he finished building his own studio with Anders Moller of
Euroboys. This is called Crystal Canyon and is located in
Oslo.
In March 2008 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. He has said that he is optimistic about his recovery and that he expects to be completely cured by the fall.
