The Emirates Centre For Strategic studies and Rsearch is a major research and strategic planning organization established by the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates and currently belongs to the court of the crown prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It includes more than one hundred international researchers and analysts mainly holding PhDs.

As it was established by the armed forces, its main areas of research included middle eastern politics, military studies, strategic studies (politically and economically related) and other issues. However, since its independence from the army, the centre is focusing on issues related to the economic development and competitiveness of Abu Dhabi as an Emirate. It holds regular seminars and conferences related to education, health, energy and other sectors of focus on the emirate.
