Electric Fish started in 1989 after Tropical Candy temporarily disbanded. Dylan Trenton and Justin West recruited former Trouble Brother members Peter Young and Colin Reds in 1990. In March 1990 they released their first Demo Tape called "Fly Fishing". A year later after a fight with Colin Reds over his drug use he was kicked out off he band and replaced by Matt Reds(Colin's Brother). In 1992 they released their first album "LIVE FROM DYLAN'S BASEMENT"; in 1992 Justin West and Matt Reds former MothergoosBate and left. So Dylan Ternton used Tropical Candy until 1993
in 1993 Kyle Ross and Matt Just saw Tropical Candy play a show and asked to join the band. Dylan told them no but he said he could use them in his side band. In 1994 Electric Fish came off Haius and released "Ski" under Music House Records. During April they turned down a tour and decided to record a new album. In 1995 they released "Lock and Load" which would be their last album
In 1997 the band broke up and departed from each other. In 2004 they got back together for 2 shows and then broke back up again. In 2007 Dylan Trenton announced on the site the band would get back together.
During 1979 Dylan formed a band called "Denial" in 1983 the band broke up when Dylan joined Xmac. In mid 2007 denial got back together and Electric Fish went on Hiatus. In 2008 They played 1 show with Kyle's friend Luke in place of Edwards; Luke however didn't stay with the band.
Matt Just and Dylan Trenton announced on their website that they would be returning to Electric Fish's early punk roots for this new album. They plan to stay as a punk rock band for quite some time.
