Eldee Young (born January 7 in Chicago, Illinois 1936 - died February 12 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand from a heart attack) was a jazz double-bass player who performed in the cool jazz, post bop and rhythm and blues mediums. He started playing upright bass at the age of thirteen. He met Ramsey Lewis and formed Ramsey Lewis Trio in 1955. After a decade together he split with fellow bandmate, Isaac 'Red' Holt to form the Young-Holt Trio. They changed their name to Young-Holt Unlimited in 1968. They split in 1974 and Young returned to Ramsey Lewis in the 1980's. He also played with Jeremy Monteiro for over twenty years. Young also appeared on the albums of James Moody and Eden Atwood, among others.
