Donovan Ashton Simmonds (born
October 12,
1988 in
London) is an
English footballer who plays as a
striker on loan at
Kilmarnock from
Coventry City. Born in the
London Borough of Waltham Forest, he joined
Coventry City on a free transfer after being released by
Charlton Athletic following the 2006–07 season. He is one of a number of Coventry signings to have previously worked with manager
Iain Dowie.
On March 27 2008 it was announced that he had joined Gillingham on loan until the end of April, where he wore shirt number 2, a number usually associated with rightbacks. He made his Gillingham debut in a 2–1 home win against Luton Town on April 1.
On 13 August 2008 Simmonds joined Kilmarnock on a loan deal set to last until 5 January 2009.
