The
Dikika region is an area of the
Afar Region of
Ethiopia where the
hominid fossil
Selam was found. Dikika is located in
Mille woreda.
Dikika is part of the Hadar formation in the Afar Region, a series of sedimentary rocks deposited approximately 3.4 million years ago, and exposed by the erosive action of the Awash River.
