Dentalium zelandicum

Dentalium zelandicum is a tusk shell of the family Dentaliidae, endemic to New Zealand waters. It is found off the east coast of Northland to Dusky Sound and the Chatham Islands, at depths of between 45 and 550 m.

The shell is large and solid, slightly arcuate, slowly tapering, and with numerous unequal longitudinal ribs.

Length is up to 88 mm, and width at the anterior aperture up to 11.5 mm.
