David Briggs (born David John Briggs, 26 January 1951, in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian musician and record producer, best known for his time as a guitarist in the rock band, Little River Band between 1976 and 1981.

In 1976 he joined the Little River Band. He wrote there hit single "Lonesome Loser", as well as "Happy Anniversary". From 1978 until 1981, Little River Band achieved six consecutive U.S. Top 10 singles with "Reminiscing", "Lady", "Lonesome Loser", "Cool Change", "The Night Owls" and "Take It Easy On Me".

Briggs also produced the rock band, Australian Crawl, and co-wrote their single "Hoochie Gucci Fiorucci Mama" with vocalist James Reyne... Produced Russell Morriss " Almost Frantic" Album. Started Rough Diamond records with Ross Gardiner...distributed through Astor records and then Polygram. Signed No Fixed Address..first Aboriginal Band..released in Australia "We have Survived"..Launched by Bob Hawke.. Prime Minister of Australia at the time. The Orphans..two singles ... Hop Skip Jump and Big Ronnie. The Stockings Album...Red Tango. The Young Home Buyers Album....all above produced by David Briggs. released on Rough Diamond. "No Money" by the Dugites EP..when no other label would take the chance.

Briggs now works as a recording engineer and producer in Melbourne. Has worked on litterally thousands of records since starting the Production Workshop Recording Studio in1979 Since 2002 Lecturer:Victoria University. Melbourne. Applied Acoustic Design. Advanced Digital Audio. Huge back catalogue as a Mastering/Recording /Engineer.Producer. Known as the best ears in the music business. One of the true legends of Australian Music.
