Darkness (a.k.a Darkness: The Vampire Version and Leif Jonker's Darkness) is an independent horror film released in 1993. The film was made in 1991, with a budget roughly around $5,000. Jonker, 19 at the time, wrote, directed, edited, produced the film. Darkness is known for having the most exploding heads in one film. The large number of special effects were created by Leif Jonker and star vampire hunter, Gary Miller.

A small community is besieged by vampires. After he watches friends ravaged in a convenience store, a lone avenger goes off to do battle with the undead, armed with shotgun, chainsaw, and Holy water. Later he finds other survivors and they try to stay alive long enough to do battle with Liven, king of the vampires.
