The Department of Technical Education (DOTE) is a department of each state government in India. It is responsible for technical education in their respective state. They impart and regulate technical education. Generally affairs of state run (government run) technical institutes like polytechnic and engineering colleges are looked after by them. The duties include curriculum revision, selection of teachers, admission of students and upgrading of infrastructures.
