DMZ//38

DMZ//38 is an alternative-rock band formed in 2005 to highlight the ongoing division of the Korean peninsula. Through the release of the first “No Man’s Land” album in summer of 2006, the group received major media attention in South Korea and state-side for its uncompromising stance for peace and reunification of Korea. Media highlights include a brief feature on YTN TV and reviews in Korea Times(Los Angeles). DMZ//38 was named Outstanding Political Band of the Year in 2005.

Frontman and songwriter DMZ has an extensive musical and activist background, including co-founding the seminal Korean American rap duo Fists of Fury under the stage name CYAT. Fists of Fury gained acclaim for their work supporting inter-ethnic relations in the wake of the LA riots.

“No Man’s Land” was mastered by Grammy-nominated Mike Lazer at Paramount Studios (Gnarls Barkley "Crazy") and produced by DMZ and Eric Arm. Original bassist Mario Pagliarulo joined Serj Tankian's solo band (System of A Down) beginning in Fall of 2007.
