Glenn Cunningham Lake, named for former Omaha mayor and U.S. Congressman Glenn C. Cunningham, is located in north central Omaha. The lake project opened to the public in 1977. The lake has a surface area and a maximum depth of approximately 23 ft (7 m). More than of parkland surround the lake, including , north of Nebraska Highway 36, designated as wildlife area.
The lake has been drained and is undergoing an ecosystem reconstruction plan which should be completed in 2008.
