Copley is a stop along the
Green Line subway of the
MBTA in
Boston, Massachusetts. It is located under
Copley Square, with entrances and exits along
Boylston and Dartmouth streets.
After Copley Station, the E Branch of the Green Line splits off from the rest of the downtown subway and runs under Huntington Avenue. Copley Station therefore affords outbound riders their last chance to switch on or off of an E train. However, travellers wishing to switch from one branch going inbound to another branch going outbound must do so at Arlington.

Accessibility
Copley Station is
not wheelchair accessible. The nearest accessible station to Copley Square is
Back Bay on the
Orange Line, about two blocks south. See also
MBTA accessibility.
Name Controversy
One of the attractions around the stop, the Boston Public Library, is requesting that the station name be changed to exactly that, "Boston Public Library", noting that the stops:
- Aquarium
- Charles/MGH (The Massachusetts General Hospital)
- Symphony
have been created, pushing the point that the library predates the MBTA (by 11 years, in fact), and simply wants the name in their favor .
