Cognitive Assessment System

Cognitive Assessment System

The Das-Naglieri Cognitive Assessment System (CAS) test is an assessment test given to school children to their academic strengths and weaknesses.

Developed by Jack Naglieri, PhD, a psychologist at George Mason University and psychologist J.P. Das, PhD of the University of Alberta.

The test is based on the theories of Soviet neuropsychologist A.R. Luria, similarly to Alan S. Kaufman's KABC.

Present Use

CAS assesses a student’s planning, attention, simultaneous and successive processes

There is criticism of this test due to its low correlation with other traditional tests.
