Coalhurst (originally named Bridgend) is a town in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located on the Crowsnest Highway, west of Lethbridge. It used to be a mining community.

Around 1930, a large fire broke out in Coalhurst and cost the town about $35,000. No one was injured in the fire.


In 2006, Coalhurst had a population of 1,523 living in 542 dwellings, a 3.2% increase from 2001. The town has a land area of and a population density of .
