Chlorfenvinphos is an insecticide. It is a colorless or amber liquid.

The United States cancelled use of chlorfenvinphos in 1991 because it is dangerous to humans. The substance has harmful effects on the nervous system. Chlorfenvinphos has not been classified for carcinogenicity (ability to cause cancer). Chlorfenvinphos was sold under five main brand names: Birlane, Dermaton, Sapercon, Steladone, and Supona.

Chemistry

A vinyl organophosphate, chlorfenvinphos hydroyzes in water slowly and isn't very soluble in that liquid. The chemical formula for chlorfenvinphos is C12H14Cl3O4P. Its molecular weight is 359.56.
