China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry (Group) Corporation (CSR) is a state-owned enterprise supervised by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. The company was established in 2001 after the restructuring of its former China National Railway Locomotive & Rolling Stock Industry Corporation (LORIC), together with its main competitor, China North Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry (Group) Corporation.
China South Locomotive is one of the largest state locomotive and railway equipment manufacturers in China. It now controls Hong Kong-listed "Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric", Shanghai-listed "Zhuzhou Times New Materials Technology" and Shenzhen-listed "South Huiton".
Its subsidiary company, China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Limited, was established in 2007 and it issued A shares and H shares listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange and Hong Kong Stock Exchange respectively in August 2008.
