Cheremkhovo, city (1989 pop. 74,000), SE Siberian Russia, on the Trans-Siberian RR. The center of the Cheremkhovo coal basin, the city forms part of a minor industrial complex based mainly on coal and chemical production.
Cheremkhovo (Черемхово) is a town in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Trans-Siberian Railway. Population: 60,107 (2002 Census). The town was founded in 1772. It is one of the coal-mining towns in the Irkutsk coal basin. This town is also very industrial.
