Charles Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch

Charles William Henry Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch, 6th Duke of Queensberry (born 24 May 1772 in England; died 20 April 1819 in Lisbon) was the son of Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch and Lady Elizabeth Montagu. His maternal grandparents were George Montagu, 1st Duke of Montagu and Lady Mary Montagu, daughter of John Montagu, 2nd Duke of Montagu.

He was originally known as the Earl of Dalkeith and succeeded to the title of 4th Duke of Buccleuch in January 1812 .

Cricket career

Dalkeith was an amateur cricketer who made 4 known appearances in major cricket matches in 1797. He was a member of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) .

Family

On 24 March 1795, Dalkeith married Hon. Harriet Katherine Townshend, daughter of Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney and they had seven children:
