Centruroides vittatus

Centruroides is a genus of scorpions, the typical bark scorpions. Numerous species are extensively found throughout the warm parts of the New World. Some are known for their (among Buthidae) interesting patterning or large size; most if not all shine up brightly in a blacklight at close distance, except when newly molted. They contain several highly venomous species, and fatalities are known to occur.
