Caron Treatment Centers

Caron Treatment Centers, formerly The Caron Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization specializing in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction since 1957. Caron has gender-separate, gender-specific treatment programs with a full spectrum of services, including primary, relapse and extended residential treatment programs for adolescents, young adults and adults, as well as programs for families affected by the disease of addiction. With nearly 70 percent of patients entering treatment already suffering from psychiatric/psychological disorders in addition to their chemical addiction, Caron also treats co-occurring disorders within the patient community.

In 2008, Caron introduced a Young Adult Female program, following the same modalities of Caron’s Young Adult Male Program. This program focuses on issues common to females ages 20-25 who enter treatment for chemical dependency through group therapy, education and peer support groups. Caron also has a smoke/tobacco-free continuum of care in the Young Adult and Adolescent treatment facilities.

Caron introduced Adolescent, Young Adult and Chronic Pain Assessment Programs in July 2008. Designed to rule in or rule out a chemical dependency, these programs consist of physical, psychological and biopsychosocial assessments that are completed over a 5-day period in a single controlled environment. At the end of the assessment, the patient and his/her family review the results and discuss recommendations for next steps.

Caron Treatment Centers operates its residential treatment center in the southwestern suburb of Wernersville, Pennsylvania. Other locations include Caron Renaissance, an extended care treatment center in Boca Raton, Florida, and regional offices in New York City, Philadelphia and Bermuda.

In addition to residential treatment programs, Caron has an outpatient center in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania that provides treatment services for adults and adolescents, including aftercare support groups, codependency programs, drug and alcohol evaluations, drug screenings, educational programs, family therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, intervention services, marital/family counseling, and relapse treatment.
