Caprice Crane

Caprice Crane is an American writer, novelist, music supervisor, screenwriter, television writer and producer.

She was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of radio announcer/TV interviewer Les Crane and actress Tina Louise. She graduated from New York University (NYU) Film School and was hired by MTV to write, produce and music supervise game shows, sports shows, music specials and the MTV Video Music Awards.

She has two novels, Stupid & Contagious (2006), the title of which is taken from the lyrics of the Nirvana song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and Forget About It (2007), which is being made into a major motion picture at Disney starring Scarlett Johansson. Both her first and second books won RT Reader's Choice Awards, two years in a row, for the years best Mainstream and Chick Lit novels.

Crane has sold a third novel and a fourth novel in a two-book deal to Bantam/Random House, the first of which is due in 2009.

She currently resides in Los Angeles where she is a staff writer on the new hit TV show 90210.
