A
capodecina (also called
caporegime) is the captain of a
decina, a branch within an organized crime family. Some sources define a
decina as a group of ten men, others as a branch of a family in an outlying region.
The term was used by Nick Rizzuto in reference to himself. Vic Cotroni was the recognized capodecina of Montreal, John "Johnny Pops" Papalia preceded him.
