Canso crater

Canso (crater)

Canso crater is a Martian crater. It lies about 450 km west of the Viking 1 lander, slightly Northeast of LUNAE Planum, and West of CHRYSE Planitia. The crater is named after Canso, a Nova Scotia fishing town. The name was officially adopted for Martian surface nomenclature in 1988 by the International Astronomical Union and Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature (IAU/WGPSN).
