Botanic railway station serves the Botanic area in south Belfast, Northern Ireland and students for Queen's University Belfast. It is named after the nearby Belfast Botanic Gardens.
The station opened on 4 November 1976 and is very popular with passengers as it is closer to the City Centre than Belfast Central.
Work to improve access for disabled passengers is nearing completion through the provision of lifts to the platforms. This upgrade is part of a £17 million investment package which also includes better lighting, signage and seating. It is expected to be complete by late Spring 2008
