Botahtaung Pagoda (ဗိုလ်တထောင်ဘုရား; also spelt Botataung; literally "1000 military officers") is a famous pagoda located in downtown Yangon, Yangon Division, Burma. It was built during the time period Shwedagon Pagoda was built, and was originally known as Kyaik-de-att in Mon. The pagoda is hollow within and houses a sacred hair of Gautama Buddha. Botahtaung Pagoda was rebuilt after it was completely destroyed during World War II, and is located near the Yangon River.
