Blue Money

Blue Money

"Blue Money" is a hit song that was written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter, Van Morrison and included on his 1970 album, His Band and the Street Choir. It was the second of the two Top Forty hits from this album, reaching #23 on the U.S. charts. It was released in the U.K. in June 1971 with "Call Me Up in Dreamland" as the B-side.

Brian Hinton remarks about this song:

"Blue Money" seems to be about a top shelf magazine model, maybe this is how Janet paid the rent during their wilderness years. The music sounds like Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, boozy horns and a nonsensical chorus.
