"
Black Rain" is the third
single from
Ozzy Osbourne's ninth studio album
Black Rain. A small preview of the song was originally found on ozzy.com located at the bookcase below the full length version of "
I Don't Wanna Stop" single. It has echoes of
Black Sabbath material with its slow, spooky riffs, and its tempo change at the end.
The song talks about politics and the Iraq war, using the fictional phenomenon "Black Rain" as a metaphor for war. More specifically, the "Black Rain" could refer to a "rain" of bullets, or it could be a reference to the term "black rain" which was used to describe nuclear fallout by the survivors of the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
