IOI Corporation Berhad or commonly referred to as IOI, was incorporated on 31 October 1969 as Industrial Oxygen Incorporated Sdn Bhd. IOI is one of Malaysia's biggest conglomerates that started off from industrial gas manufacturing.

Today IOI Group comprises 2 listed entities on the main board of the KLSE (now known as Bursa Malaysia). IOI Corporation Berhad (Plantation) and IOI Properties Berhad (Properties) (). IOI Oleochemical Industries Berhad (Industrial Products) was de-listed from the exchange as it is privatized under IOI Corporation Berhad.

IOI also owns 3 resort hotels namely Marriott Putrajaya Hotel and Palm Garden Hotel in Putrajaya as well as Casuarina Beach Resort in Batu Feringghi, Penang. In 2005, IOI Properties Berhad was ranked second in The Edge's Malaysia Top 10 Property Developers Award.

The group is currently headed by Tan Sri Dato' Lee Shin Cheng, the Executive Chairman and CEO. Lee is the father of Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor and the brother of Lee Cheng Leang, both Executive Directors of the Company.
