Baroque Hoedown was created by early synthesizer pioneers (and frequent collaborators)
Jean-Jacques Perrey and
Gershon Kingsley (
Perrey-Kingsley). The composition was once described as being a "
harpsichord gone
country". It is the theme song for Disney's
Main Street Electrical Parade and the original
Electrical Water Pageant theme song. It was also incorporated into
Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights and into
Light Magic and
Remember... Dreams Come True as a tribute to the
Main Street Electrical Parade.
