The club was founded in 1995 and its stadium is the Estadio As Travesas with capacity of 6,500 seats.

The club is sponsored by Cometal.

Prior to 2006, the club was Barcel Euro Puebla FS, but in July, 2006 ,Celta de Vigo bought the franchise of Barcel Euro Puebla, moving the club to Vigo and renaming the club to Cometal Celta de Vigo.

• In June of 2007, the club was relegated two divisions, from División de Honor to Primera Nacional A due to serious economic problems.
