Lakeshore West line

Lakeshore West is one of the seven train lines of the GO Transit system in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. It extends from Union Station in Toronto to Hamilton.

Only a handful of trains actually run to Hamilton, and that only takes place during rush hour. Most other weekday, weekend, and holiday trains end at Aldershot, When trains are not running on a section of the line, buses take over.

Construction was completed in 2007 that added an third track between Burlington and Bayview Junction. Combined with additional work in the early nineties, this means that the Lakeshore West line has three tracks between Bayview Junction and Sixteen Mile Creek in Oakville. Work is currently underway to add a third track between Sixteen Mile creek and the Port Credit station -- this will mean that the Lakeshore West line will have at least three tracks from Union Station all the way to Bayview Junction.
