The
Cañón del Sumidero National Park is a
Mexican ecological reserve and
National Park on the
Usumacinta River, in the central
Chiapas highlands. The park's centrepiece is
Sumidero Canyon, accessible by boat from the township of
Chiapa de Corzo, in the central region of the state of
Chiapas.
American crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus) are among the park's most notorious and sometimes enormous inhabitants.
