Babina is also used as a genus-group taxon: As originally described, Babina (frog) denotes frogs presently in Rana but may eventually be a valid genus again. This preoccupies the use of Babina for a brachipod (see Babina (brachiopod)) and for a hymenopteran (see Babina (insect)) genus.

Babina is a cantonment town in Jhansi district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
