The
Aviazione Legionaria ("Legionary Air Force") was a unit sent by the Italian
Regia Aeronautica ("Royal Air Force") in support of
Franco's Nationalists during the
Spanish Civil War. They acted in concert with the German
Condor Legion.
They served from August 1936 to the end of the conflict in March 1939. Altogether a total of 758 airplanes were sent:

- Fiat BR.20, bomber (113)
- Savoia-Marchetti SM.79, torpedo-bomber (103)
- Savoia-Marchetti SM.81, bomber (58)
- Breda Ba.65, ground attack aircraft (12)
- Seaplanes, several types (22 approximately)
- Transport aircraft, several types (53 approximately)
- Troop carrier aircraft, several types, (10 approximately)
